Testing Software the Human Way

We're the team that finds what automated tools miss – because real users don't follow scripts, and neither do we.

How We Got Here

Started by two frustrated developers who kept seeing buggy software in the wild. Turns out, there's more to quality than passing automated tests.

2019

The Breaking Point

After watching another "thoroughly tested" app crash during a client presentation, Amelia and Henrik decided enough was enough. They started Voltara ShineUp with one goal: test software like real people actually use it. No shortcuts, no assumptions.

Finding Our Edge

While everyone rushed toward automation, we doubled down on human insight. We developed our signature approach: combining systematic testing with the unpredictable ways people actually interact with software. Our clients started seeing issues they never knew existed.

2023

Expanding Impact

Word spread about our thorough approach. Companies began reaching out not just to fix problems, but to prevent them. We grew our team with testers who share our obsession with quality and our belief that humans catch what machines miss.

What's Next

Today we work with businesses across Thailand and beyond. Our focus remains the same: finding the bugs that matter to real users before they become real problems. Because good software isn't just about working – it's about working well for the people who use it.

The People Behind the Testing

Meet the team that approaches every project with curiosity, patience, and an eye for the details that make software truly work.

Amelia Thornfield, Lead Testing Strategist

Amelia Thornfield

Lead Testing Strategist

Spent her early career as a UX researcher before realizing that testing software properly requires understanding how people really think. She's the one who asks the questions nobody else thinks to ask – and usually finds the answers that matter most.

Henrik Lindberg, Senior Quality Analyst

Henrik Lindberg

Senior Quality Analyst

Former backend developer who got tired of fixing bugs that could have been caught earlier. Henrik brings a developer's understanding of what can go wrong with a tester's patience to find out what actually does go wrong. He's methodical without being mechanical.

Manual testing process in action

Manual Testing Excellence

We test the way real users actually behave – not the way documentation says they should.

User scenario validation process

User Scenario Validation

Every test case starts with a real person trying to accomplish something real.

Quality assurance methodology

Quality Assurance

We don't just find bugs – we help you understand why they happened and how to prevent them.

How We Think About Testing

Our approach isn't complicated, but it is thorough. We believe good testing combines systematic methods with human curiosity.

Our systematic testing methodology in practice
1

Understanding Context

Before we touch your software, we need to understand who uses it and why. We spend time learning about your users' goals, frustrations, and workflows. This isn't just background research – it shapes every test we run.

2

Systematic Exploration

We combine structured test plans with exploratory testing. Yes, we follow procedures, but we also poke around in ways that feel natural. Some of our best finds come from moments when we think "what if someone tried this instead?"

3

Real-World Scenarios

Our test cases mirror real user journeys, not idealized workflows. We test on different devices, with varying internet speeds, and while multitasking. Because that's how people actually use software – messily and impatiently.

4

Clear Communication

We document issues in plain language with clear steps to reproduce them. Our reports focus on impact and priority, not just technical details. Because finding bugs is only useful if the right people can act on that information.

Ready to See What We Find?

Every project teaches us something new about how software can fail – and how it can work better. Let's talk about what thorough testing could mean for your project.
